The city of Eugene, in Lane County, prides itself as being one of the most livable cities in the United States. Eugene is known as Tracktown USA and the Emerald City. The Eugene/Springfield metro area is the second largest city in the state with a population of over 250,000 people.

For those venturing out, the Oregon Coast is about one and a half hours to the west. Skiing, fishing and camping is to the East. Portland, the largest city in Oregon, is two hours away to the north and a major airport is available to take you on further excursions.
